Thieme - Past and Present

1960          THIEME Machine factory founded in Teningen, Freiburg by Werner Thieme

1965          THIEME Plastics factory is founded

1972          Implemented the first high quality designs of molded parts (PUR) made from Polyurethane

1976          Implemented designs and started production of screen printing machines

1982          First energy absorbing foam for automotive applications were made

1990          THIEME S.A. France is founded

1993          Opening of Thiemes technical department (Technikum)
                  with merger of Thieme machines and plastic factory

1994          Beginning of second generation of the Thieme family

1995          THIEME Corporation USA is founded

1996          Modern restructuring of individual business units towards process orientation is performed

1997          Large polyurethane parts are designed and produced

1997/1998 Awarded Quality Management system certification of Polyurethane Division

2004          Start of development of large-format digital printing systems with cooperation partners

2005          Expansion of the screen printing department within Thiemes newly formed printing division
                  Successful market launch of innovative digital printing systems

2006          Extension of the PUR business segment by the construction of a company-owned paint finishing system at the Teningen site

2009          Center for plastics technology and marketing
                  Production of Custom RIM of the most suitable material and manufacturing method

2010          50 year anniversary
