Field Service Technician (m/f)

in the Greater Chicago Area

Job description:

With your experience as a Digital Field Service Technician, you will perform installations and service calls throughout the United States. We are looking for an individual that has interest installing and servicing state of the art digital printing machines, working independently and enjoys interacting with our customer base in North America.

The work will be throughout the United States. Thieme Corporation will provide job specific training in addition to the training at our manufacturing plant in Germany.

Performing technical service includes trouble shooting and spare part support for existing clients. Furthermore executing all duties involved in selling parts and maintaining or stock products.

Job responsibilities include the following:

• Provide technical support to our customers via phone or at their location
• Diagnose customer's complaints, repair, disassemble, clean, re-lube and realign mechanical and electrical parts
• Installations and modification of products to accommodate delivery and/or customer
• Maintenance of existing customer base by regular and timely visits, phone contact, email, etc.
• Recognize client concerns, interact regarding issues and provide technical support
• Estimate parts and labor required for installations and repairs.

Candidate profile:

• A minimum of 2 years of technical field service experience
• Extensive hands on experience in the areas of technical service
• Demonstrated ability to consult with clients on technical/electro-mechanical challenges
• Ability to read technical product specifications, floor plans, schematics
• Proficient computer skills
• Experience with screen/digital printing technology is a plus
